CANDLES was started by Holocaust survivor Eva Kor to prevent prejudice and hatred through education about the Holocaust. The organization is dedicated to the memory of the Kor twins who were subject to Nazi doctor Josef Mengele. Through education, the museum hopes to create a world free from hatred and genocide.

Daughters of the Nile is an international organization of women 18 years or older, who are related by birth or marriage to a Shriner, Master Mason, or Daughter of the Nile, or is a member in good-standing of a Masonic-related organization for girls. The organization as a whole contributes 1.7 million annually to Shriner hospitals for children.
